Personnel recruiting and retention is essential to the global contract drilling industry. Today’s workforce is stretched thin, and personnel are at a premium for rigs both on- and offshore. One solution is to broaden the employment base beyond traditional labor sources. The goal of IADC Career Connection program is to assist the drilling contractor industry develop non-traditional sources of recruiting in Europe and North America to help find the future workforce needed to man the world’s drilling rigs. Through direct employer workshops and traveling job fairs, the program will focus on orchestrating events in areas where workers are facing job losses due to downsizing or closure of manufacturing plants. In 2008 IADC Career Connection will launch the second phase, a Returning Military Campaign. “IADC is not taking on a recruiting role but will act as a liaison between its member companies and potential employees in our search for talented workers. Each company participating in IADC Career Connection is responsible for separately deciding where to recruit, where any new employees would work, and what compensation and benefits will be offered. No participating company will collaborate in any of these activities with any other participating company. As a drilling contractor member company with IADC you will have the ability to register your company for upcoming IADC direct employer workshops and job fairs. Only drilling contractors can participate. Attention Job Seekers: Please do not submit resumes to IADC through IADC Career Connection. IADC Career Connection is not a job placement service.
